 The Symbiosis Society is a family of 30 educational institutions on 8 campuses in Pune, India. It has some 35,000 students. The Society manages the Symbiosis International University (SIU), formerly Symbiosis International Education Centre. Today, Symbiosis is ranked 5th in the country and is known in India and abroad as one of the best educational institutes imparting quality education in various fields such as Management, Law, Computers, Health Care, Arts and Commerce.

Symbiosis is a Greek term meaning "Living together for mutual benefit". Symbiosis is an educational and cultural center of international standards. Established in 1971 under the patronage of Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, President & Founder Director.

The objective of Symbiosis from its inception, has been to promote and protect the feeling of togetherness, caring, sharing, and understanding between Indians and inhabitants of other countries.

Symbiosis owes its genesis to the cause of international students. Keeping this spirit in view the SPA has been organizing tournaments in various sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess and carom for international students since the year 2004, in collaboration with the parent society. The festival is gaining strength and popularity year by year.
